30% of all disabilities due to all medical causes can be attributed to neuropsychiatric disorders. Quality of life and work output is tremendously affected compared to that affected by all other medical diseases.
ONSET Begins in early age
50 per cent by age 14 years age and 75 per cent by age 24.One in five suffer from one of the mental illnesses:
- Schizophrenia,
- Depressive disorder,
- Bipolar disorder,
- Anxiety Disorder,
- Post traumatic stress disorder,
- Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder,
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
