We are asked whether the penis should be circumcised on three occasions.

They cannot perhaps make distiction between people of India and neighbouring Pakistan. People from Pakistan, which is predominantly Muslim must have their baby circumcised as a religious injunction. It is better to have it done in hygienic condition by a qualified surgeon rather than get it done in the traditional way=SUNTA.
All male Jews too are circumcised on religious ground.

WHY RELIGION ADVISES CIRCUMCISION?

My Question
Does any one have any idea why people in Muslim - Arabic countries have been doing circumcision of every male child for generations?

My Hypothesis
The scarcity of water in desert conditions impelled the ancient people of the land to proscribe circumcision thus minimizing the use of water, yet accomplishing cleanliness and hygiene in the hot climate. Water would be required if uncircumcised, to clean underneath the foreskin by pulling the extra skin behind and exposing glans and the sulcus of the penis. This requirement is eliminated by circumcision. In circumcised penis, the glans is always exposed, hence there is no collection of spegma.

Despite this the Muslim religion commnands that the penis be always cleaned with water after urination.
