Happiness
Psychology after its study of the mentally sick has begun study of happiness.
Martin Seligman describes three types of happiness.
FIRST is the fun, gregarious, social, pleasures.
SECOND is the happiness of people who are immersed in their work. They lost themselves unaware of the flow of time. The artist is an example.
THIRD is the happiness of meaningful life. There is higher purpose, compassion, service with missionary zeal.
The third type is enduring happiness.
The first type of happiness does not contribute to life satisfaction as the second and third does.
