The first external sign of puberty in boys is
testes begin to grow bigger.

I remember a joke:
The intern asked the matron,
"In which part do women have curly hair?"
The matron was incensed by such a
lurid question and decided that my friend
who asked the question) deserved to be
punished for talking vulgar things with
the nurses.

She took him to the Dean of the
Medical College. She too was red with anger when told
of the obscene talk.
My friend was undeterred. He asked again,
"Maam, what is my fault?
I asked a general knowledge question.
In which part do women have curly hair?"
When the Dean and the Matron stared with rage, he replied, I thought you ought to be knowing this, "Women in Africa have curly hair."
Pubic hair appears and the penis begins to enlarge.
Over the next 2 to 3 years the penis, testicles,
scrotum continue to enlarge. The pubic hair
becomes coarse, curly, and dark.
Boys get erections as soon as the puberty
begins.
Blood flows in the erectile tissue of
penis making the penis hard and erect.
In the very center of her brain, a structure the size of a grape lights up. It sends out a pulse of hormone. By morning, the hormone pulse has stopped. The same thing happens again the following night, only this time the pulse is slightly stronger and lasts longer. This continues until eventually the hormone is being released at all times of day and night.
The trigger for puberty in both boys and girls is the production of 'gonadotrophin releasing hormone' (GnRH) from a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. This hormone stimulates the pituitary gland to release two hormones, Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH). These hormones travel through the blood to the testicles and ovaries and switch on the development procedure which will lead to sexual maturity.
