USE OF LUBRICANT IN SEX THERAPY
Question: What has any lubricant got to do with SEX?
Answer: Lubricant is used to relieve pain at the time of insertion or during sexual intercourse, which essentially consists of mechanical friction between two parts. Lubricant is also used in Sex Therapy (Treatment)in cases of Female as well as Male Sexual Dysfunctions.
Why can we not use oil instead?
In India coconut oil is used as hair oil.
Hair oil is easily available at home. Hence, embarrassment for purchasing or keeping at home is totally obviated.
By and large, any non toxic hair oil can be used for the above reasons to enhance pleasure. However in There are, however, some situations when lubricant like GLCERIN or Glycerol

WHEN PREGNANCY IS DESIRED WE ADVISE NOT TO USE OIL BASED LUBRICANT.
Oil being sticky is difficult to wash off. Hence, oil can get clogged in genital parts. In comparison, therefore, water based lubricant is more healthy and stays for minimal period in the genital areas. You can wash it easily. It does not stain clothes.

Why use lubricant?
Lubricant is used where there is friction, typically mechanical friction.
Sexual Intercourse necessarily causes friction. Hence, lubricant is required. Physiologically the hormones triggered by the sexual arousal bring this secretions in male as well as the female. When this may be lacking external use of lubricant is advocated by therapists. The lubricant has to be SAFE.

When is lubricant useful?
To facilitate insertion of penis in the newly married virgin girl if the sex is painful or insertion has not yet happened.
Lubricant may be used in the treatment of some female sexual dysfunctions.
It may be used to enhance sexual pleasure.

There are other lubricants too. K.Y. Jelly is the brand name of water soluble lubricant available at chemists shop. Gel used for USG and ECG may as per the Sex Therapists instructions.
LUBRICATION
Vaginal lubrication spontaneously occurs with sexual arousal. However, in certain sexual dysfunctions or to enhance pleasure or as a part of Sex Therapy external application of SAFE lubricant becomes necessary.
PAIN DURING SEX WOMEN
Dyspareunia Pain during Sexual Intercourse
Unconsumated Marriage Fear of Pain in Sexual Intercourse in a newly married virgin.
Vaginismus Causes pain during or at the moment of insertion

PAIN DURING SEX FOR MAN
The pre cum is watery discharge that begins with sexual arousal.
On sexual arousal, the Human Body System in man and woman send signals, causing liquid watery discharge that moistens woman's vagina. Precum is a term used for secretion that begins with sexual arousal.
WHY LUBRICANT
Nature's mechanism to supply lubricant since sexual intercourse involves friction.
GO TO THE TOP
Nature has been programmed to secrete discharge because the animals are going to coopulate. Mating is an act of friction. Just as mechanical machine gears need lubricant during penovaginal intercourse natural lubricant is discharged to ensure silky smooth pleasant sensation and minimal or no abrasions as the penis moves to and fro thrusting in the vaginal passage.
OTHER USES
Lubricant can be effectively used to teach 'Stop and Start technique', which was made popular by Masters and Johnson and other Sex Researchers who made some modifications in the technique as well as its name. Example 'Stop and Squeeze technique'.
WITHOUT MEDICINES WITH OR WITHOUT USING LUBRICANT PREMATURE EJACULATION CAN BE STOPPED.

ANORGASMIC WOMEN
Use of lubricant can help initiating finger exercise so that ANY WOMAN MAY DISCOVER THE PARTS, THE AMOUNT OF PUSH AND THE DIRECTION THAT GIVES HER MAXIMUM SEXUAL PLEASURE. Proper use of lubricant helps in teaching women to enhance sexual pleasure or even to get orgasms.
FRIGIDITY or FEMALE SEXUAL AROUSAL DISORDER
The disorder typically affects up to 25 percent of all women. Three-fourths of women with FSAD are postmenopausal.
GO TO THE TOP
In America an estimated 47 million women have female sexual arousal disorder or hypoactive sexual dysfunction. Women describe it as being "unable to get turned on," or being continually disinterested in sex. This is often Husband's agony.

Uses of Gycerine
1
In foods and beverages, glycerol serves as humectant, solvent and sweetener, and may help preserve foods. It is also used as filler in commercially prepared low-fat foods (e.g., cookies), and as a thickening agent in liqueurs. Glycerol also serves as a way, along with water, to preserve certain types of leaves. Glycerol is also used as a sugar substitute. In this regard, it has approximately 27 calories per teaspoon and is 60% as sweet as sucrose. Although it has about the same food energy as table sugar, it does not raise blood sugar levels, nor does it feed the bacteria that form plaques and cause dental cavities. As a food additive, glycerol is also known as E number E422.

Glycerol is also used to manufacture mono- and di-glycerides for use as emulsifiers, as well as polyglycerol esters going into shortenings and margarine

Pharmaceutical and personal care applications
GO TO THE BOTTOM GO TO THE TOP
(1)Glycerol is used in medical and pharmaceutical and personal care preparations, mainly as a means of improving smoothness, providing lubrication and as a humectant. It is found in cough syrups, elixirs and expectorants, toothpaste, mouthwashes, skin care products, shaving cream, hair care products, and soaps.
(2)As a 10% solution, glycerol prevents tannins from precipitating in ethanol extracts of plants (tinctures). It is also used as a substitute for ethanol as a solvent in preparing herbal extractions. It is less extractive and is approximately 30% less able to be absorbed by the body.

(3)Glycerol is a component of glycerol soap, which is made from denatured alcohol, glycerol, sodium castorate (from castor), sodium cocoate, sodium tallowate, sucrose, water, and parfum (fragrance). Sometimes one adds sodium laureth sulfate. This kind of soap is used by people with sensitive, easily-irritated skin because it prevents skin dryness with its moisturizing properties. It is possible to make glycerol soap at home.

(5)Potential Uses
A great deal of research is being conducted to try to make value-added molecules from crude glycerol (typically containing 20 % water and residual esterification catalyst) obtained from biodiesel production, as an alternative to disposal by incineration.
In organic synthesis, glycerol is used as a readily available prochiral building block.

If ingested
The glycerol component can be converted to glucose by the liver and provides energy for cellular metabolism.
Danger of contamination with diethylene glycol
GO TO THE BOTTOM GO TO THE TOP
On May 4, 2007, the US Food and Drug Administration advised all US makers of medicines to test all batches of glycerine for the toxic diethylene glycol.[11] This follows an occurrence of 100 fatal poisonings in Panama resulting from a Chinese factory deliberately falsifying records in order to export the cheaper diethylene glycol as the more expensive glycerol.[12] Glycerine and diethylene glycol are similar in appearance, smell, and taste. The US Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act was passed following the 1937 "Elixir Sulfanilamide" incident of poisoning caused by diethylene glycol contamination of medicine.
